Christ Church Carol Singing

All of us went along, when we were older, as this was great fun riding around in a bus and getting treated at every home with goodies. Singing a few carols when watched, was a small price to pay for that.

opcje binarne nauka Someone dressed in a traditional Santa Claus suit, hat and white cotton beard would lead the group, to visit all the houses to sing traditional carols as well as new Tamil lyrics set to popular cinema tunes, the nights before Xmas. The group would be accompanied by a live troupe of musicians lead by Manson, Davis Thatha’s younger son. His band would have a guitarist, a violinist, an accordion player, someone who played the harmonica and someone who played the caracas, lending a distinct Latin flavour to the Tamil carols.

follow link We would enter all the houses to wish them and sing for them and each family would welcome us into their homes lit by Xmas lights on a decorated tree and spoil us with all sorts of treats. When they came to the Parsonage, my Mum used to have dinner waiting for them, along with Christmas cake that she had baked.

watch On Xmas Eve, we all went to the midnight service preening in our new clothes far too excited to feel tired. Most of us had new clothes for Xmas, New Year, Easter and Birthdays. The Xmas dress was usually the best of the lot. Preening was definitely on the cards on Xmas day.
